21/10/18 Plastic Object Analysis

For this assignment, my task is to write up an analysis on a plastic object (either from last weeks lecture or something of my own)

The Object I have chosen is this water flask

What do I use it for?

I use it when I sit at my desk at home whether I’m studying, crafting or generally chilling out. Occasionally I would also use it when I would go out hiking.

The flask is about 16cm in height and 7.8 cm in width

The color scheme consists of olive green for the flask and black for the cap and ring.

Describe the design

The flask is 16cm tall and can contain about 500 ml of water, on one side it’s curved and on the other, it has a little gap possibly made for someone holding it creating a unique

grip.

The cap screws onto the flask to keep it tight and secure so no water can leak, The ring connects to both the cap and flask, this so the cap can’t get lost.

The Flask also comes with a cover to keep it safe, its color is camouflage green with the word “Army” on it, it has velcro flaps on the top sides to keep the flask in, a string at the back to hang it and a loop at the back so I can attach it to my belt so I can keep it close to me.

Relevant Quote:

“Architecture domesticates limitless space and enables us to inhabit it”

I chose this quote because it kind of relates to the use of this object like if someone uses this for the first time it takes a second or two to observe the shape and its use and eventually become accustomed to it.
